The Swarabhivandana Buddhist Devotional Song Festival  jointly organized by the Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte Divisional Secretariat and the Ministry of Education, Cultural and Arts Affairs of the Western Province, was held on 31 May 2026 from 6:00 PM onwards at the Ananda Samarakoon Open Air Theatre.
The event was attended by Hon. Chathuranga Abeysinghe, who also serves as the Chairman of the Regional Coordination Committee; Hon. Arosha Athapaththu; Mr. Kasun Epa Senevirathna; Ms. H.M. Viraji; Ms. Shashini Madhushika; along with other distinguished officials.
The program was enriched with performances of Buddhist devotional songs by students from several Dhamma schools affiliated with the Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte Sasanarakshaka Board, including Dharma Deepthi Dhamma School, Vijaya Dhamma School, Rahula Dhamma School, Mahinda Dhamma School, Sumanasara Dhamma School, Pragna Pradeepa Dhamma School, Bosath Dhamma School, Dharmadutha Dhamma School, Pannasena Dhamma School, and Siri Niwasa Dhamma School. Children with special needs from Sevana Children's Home and senior artists of the Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte Arts Council also contributed to making the event a success.
In addition, the Executive Committee of the Nugegoda Business and Professionals Association, the [LOLC Group](https://www.lolc.com?utm_source=chatgpt.com), Jayamanna & Sons, and several sponsors from the local community extended their generous support and contribution to the event.
   
 
  
 
 

Celebrating the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, the commencement of official duties at the Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte Divisional Secretariat took place.
Marking the dawn of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, a special ceremony was held at the office premises under the patronage of the Divisional Secretary of Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte, Mr. Kasun Epa Senevirathna. The event was conducted with religious observances led by the Buddhist Affairs Coordinator of the Divisional Secretariat, Venerable Urrugamuwe Dhamma Dassi Thero.
The Assistant Divisional Secretary, Assistant Director (Planning), Accountant, Administrative Officer, Administrative Grama Niladhari, heads of divisions, and all officers and staff of the office participated in this occasion.
 
 
 
 

Under the guidance and direction of the Divisional Secretary of Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte, Mr. Kasun Epa Seneviratne, and the Assistant Divisional Secretary, Mrs. F.M. Viraji, an art therapy program was held on 25/03/2026 in the Obeysekarapura division. This program was conducted with the aim of encouraging children with low literacy levels, under a special project to enroll children who do not attend school or who irregularly attend school.
Resource contribution for this program was provided by counseling officers who are studying for a degree in Social Work at the National Institute of Social Development. The program was organized by Development Officer Mrs. Harshi Jayasuriya and Counseling Officer Mr. Lalith Wanniarachch.

"Arogya” Mobile Medical Clinic Programme
 
In line with International Women’s Day, which falls on March 08, the “Arogya” Mobile Medical Clinic Programme is jointly organized by the Ministry of Health and Mass Media and the Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte Divisional Secretariat. The programme is scheduled to be held on 04.03.2026 from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. at the premises of the Divisional Secretariat.
The main objective of this programme is to promote the health of officers serving at the Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte Divisional Secretariat and nearby government institutions. On that day, the following medical examinations will be conducted free of charge through this clinic:
Measurement of blood pressure and Body Mass Index (BMI)
Blood sugar testing
Kidney function tests for officers with high blood sugar levels
Cholesterol testing
ECG testing
Eye examination
Dental clinic / oral health examination
Tuberculosis screening
 
Provision of nutritional advice for a healthy lifestyle by the Health Education Bureau
Cervical cancer and breast cancer early detection screening
Ayurvedic clinic
