“Carrying love from Kotte to Doluwa”

A day of carrying love to the hearts of the people of Doluwa, whose lives were shattered by a devastating whirlwind disaster.

On December 20, 2025, from 9.00 a.m. onwards throughout the day, at the Mulgama Levelanwatta Kalaivani Tamil School premises, a health camp and counseling services will be conducted by the Tri-Forces and the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo.

The program includes:

Fun-filled games and recreational activities for children

Psychosocial support programs

A cultural performance presented by the Ranwala Balakaya

A stage performance by the Colombo Oriental Choir

Distribution of donated items to the Doluwa Divisional Secretary, including:

(dry rations, school supplies, ready-made clothing, school shoes and footwear, sanitary items, etc.)

All participants will be treated to tea refreshments and lunch & dinner, lovingly prepared by the Kotte family.

The dengue control program commenced at 514D Welikada North Grama Niladhari Division on 12^th October 2025 at 8.00 a.m. at the Bandaranaikepura Hall. The Mayor, Municipal Councilor, Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte Divisional Secretariat officers, police officers at Sri Jayawardhanpura Kotte, Special Task Force officers, health medical officers, public health inspectors, dengue inspectors, together with the members of the division's societies, carried out public awareness, cleaning, cleaning of drain systems and dengue control programs successfully.

The "Harmony Green Bicycle Ride," organized with the aim of fostering coexistence and unity among communities, toured the country over twelve days and concluded on 16 July 2025 at the Rampart Wetland Park premises in Kotte.

The occasion was graced by Hon. Chathuranga Abeysinghe, Minister of Industrial and Entrepreneurial Development, Mr. Arosha Athapaththu, Mayor of Kotte, Mr. Kasun Æpa Senewiratne, Divisional Secretary, along with other invited guests.
