The Welfare Benefits Board (wbb) has been established with effect from 15th February 2016 in terms of Section 3 of the Welfare Benefits Act No. 24 of 2002.      

According to the above gazette notification, the relief allowance provided to low-income earners will provide benefits under four main categories in the first phase, while arrangements have been made to provide benefits under three categories in the second phase.

Accordingly, the number of beneficiaries in the (i) and (ii) phases of the Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte Divisional Secretariat is as follows

🚗 Services Offered by the Vehicle Revenue License Division

1. Issuance of Annual Revenue Licenses

Registered vehicles are issued a revenue license annually upon submission of required documents.

2. Renewal of Revenue Licenses

Vehicle owners can renew their license by presenting the previous year’s license, valid insurance certificate, and emission test certificate.

3. Issuance of Temporary Licenses

If the emission certificate cannot be obtained due to technical issues, a temporary license may be issued based on a certified letter from an approved garage.

4. Payment of Penalties and Arrears

If the license is not renewed within the stipulated time, penalties are charged based on the delay period (e.g., 6 months, 12 months, or more).

• Certified copy from leasing company (for leased vehicles)

🌐 Online Services

• Online renewal is available via the Revenue License Portal.
• Online renewal is not permitted for vehicles with licenses overdue by more than two years.

*Receiving and archiving pension files from divisional secretariats

*Preparing temporary files for misplaced pension files and obtaining approval

from the pension Department

*Duties of bank transfers of pensioners receiving pensions through rural banks

and pension societies.

*Inclusion in the pension management system to stop the pensions of

deceased pensioners

*Recovery of pensions paid after the death of pensioners

*Activation of suspended pensions

*Preparing monthly pension summary and obtaining monthly payment reports

*Maintenance of correction records, mailing of correctional checks

*Maintaining pension control account

*Computerization of residence certificates of pension residing abroad, correction of allowances and forwarding of pension file of pensioners who have been abroad for more than two year to the pension department

*Computerization of pensioner residence certificates

*Issuance of railway licences

*Issuance of visa letters to embassies

*Pension Calculations are carried out and enters into the system according to

the circulars issued from time to time
